European Charm in the Texas Hill Country
Hey there! Katy here, the face and heart behind Katy Rox Photography. As a Colorful Austin Wedding Photographer, I’ve had the absolute joy of capturing close to 300 weddings since starting my business in 2014. Over the years, I've fallen in love with some incredible Texas venues, but today, I want to shine a spotlight on a true Wimberley gem: Prima Vista Events.
When speaking with the team & Moody the owner at Prima Vista, it is clear how much heart goes into running and enhancing this property. Their vision is to bring together "the natural beauty of the Texas Hill Country with timeless elegance and a touch of European charm". When you arrive, it truly feels like you’ve stepped away from the hustle of the city and discovered a hidden, romantic oasis.
As a photographer, I am completely obsessed with the architecture here. The front doors, in particular, are an absolutely stunning architectural detail! Inside, the venue is beautifully white and neutral. Because my editing style is vibrant and colorful, this is a dream come true. The crisp, bridal white interiors act like a perfect blank canvas, making your wedding colors pop beautifully in your final gallery.
Whether we are shooting around the beautiful venue grounds or out in the sweeping landscape, my posing style is what I call "prompted"—a perfect hybrid of candid and posed. It is my favorite way to help shy couples come out of their shells and just be themselves in front of the camera, and it works flawlessly in a versatile space like this. Spaces Designed for Seamless Celebrations
Prima Vista can comfortably accommodate up to 175 guests, making it ideal for both intimate and larger celebrations. What I love most is the flow of the day. You can say your vows at their beautiful outdoor ceremony site, inside their covered open-air chapel (which is a fantastic rain backup!), or at their new European-inspired Rotunda. As the owner shared, "This flexibility allows couples to create distinct experiences throughout their celebration, all within one property, without having to compromise on their vision or worry about unpredictable Texas weather."
The venue is continuously enhancing the property, and the new Rotunda is a perfect example of that. It is actually one of the team's favorite spots, with the owner noting that "it brings a touch of European romance to the Texas Hill Country." Another spot you absolutely can't miss is their sunset swing beneath a massive, mature oak tree. They added this specifically for golden-hour photos, because "the combination of the tree canopy, open Hill Country landscape, and evening sunlight makes it a particularly romantic setting." The warm sunlight filtering through the canopy there is pure magic!
The venue is continuously enhancing the property, and the new Rotunda is a perfect example of that. It is actually one of the team's favorite spots on the property, featuring classical columns and a surrounding water feature that feels incredibly romantic. It is perfect for an intimate ceremony, a unique cocktail hour, or just stunning bride and groom portraits.
Another spot you absolutely can't miss is their sunset swing beneath a massive, mature oak tree. They added this specifically because couples wanted a dedicated golden-hour photo spot. The warm sunlight filtering through the canopy there is pure magic!.
When the Sun Goes Down
Golden hour is stunning, but the property truly transforms after sunset. The venue features gorgeous landscape lighting, string lights, and customizable deck lighting that create an entirely different atmosphere. The owner loves this transition, noting that "from sunset ceremonies to moonlit dancing and stargazing under the Texas sky, couples get to experience the beauty of the property throughout the evening." I actually specialize in low-light and nighttime weddings, so having a venue that looks just as spectacular at night as it does during the day is a huge win in my book!

We all know Texas weather keeps us on our toes! But Prima Vista is incredibly prepared. Between their indoor reception hall and covered pavilion, they have fantastic Plan B setups.
